Welcome to Bend it like Birmingham! The sport inclusion project. Many communities, one goal.
Bend it Like Birmingham is a unique project using sport to break down cultural barriers between Muslim, white and other communities is to be launched in East Birmingham.
Ashram, Waterloo, Midland Heart, Harden, and Friendship Care and Housing have teamed up to secure funding from the Football Foundation and Sport England. Ashram, which is based in Tyseley, will host the project. The aim of ‘Bend it like Birmingham’ is to break down cultural barriers and tackle crime in the city through the use of sports, in particular football.

CricketCity Gas CC cannot wait for the new cricket season to get underway, the season gets underway on the 18th April 2010. Ditta, the team captain says “there’s a big season ahead, we have worked very hard over the winter we have some real experience and have some really good young players too. We have plenty of good young bowlers and young batters.”
FootballThere are heaps of football events happening now and we need you to make the numbers! Whatever the standard - it doesn’t matter! We are just looking for anyone who loves to kick a ball around and make new friends.
FitnessIt really doesn’t matter how you like to stay fit as long as you keep active somehow. We are hoping to arrange more events to help people from all backgrounds and cultures stay active together. Watch out for upcoming events…
NetballNetball is a ball sport played between two teams of seven players. The sport shares many similarities with basketball, having been derived from early versions of women’s basketball.
